A) Regular Candidates
Regular students of the 2020-2021 academic session and privately registered students from 2021 are eligible for this examination, provided they were promoted after participating in the 2022 Degree 2nd Year examination.
- Eligible candidates are required to appear for the compulsory "English" paper, along with the 5th and 6th papers of their elective subjects.
- Participation in all 3rd-year exams, including any practical examinations for relevant subjects, is mandatory.
B) Irregular Candidates
This category includes students from the 2017-18, 2018-19, and 2019-20 academic years (and private students registered in 2018, 2019, and 2020) who passed the 2nd year but did not appear in the 3rd-year final exams of 2020, 2021, or 2022. Additionally, students from these sessions who previously took the final exam but received an 'F' grade in one or more courses can reappear only in those specific subjects.
- Students who failed the 3rd-year practical examination in 2022 will be given one final chance to retake it. A minimum 'D' grade is required to pass.
- It is important to note that there is no opportunity for grade improvement in practical exams.
C) Grade Improvement (Refresher) Candidates
Students who completed the 2022 Degree 3rd Year Final Examination but finished with a CGPA below 2.25 can apply for a grade improvement exam. This option is only available to those who have not previously attempted a refresher examination.
- Candidates can choose to retake a maximum of two courses in which they previously obtained a 'C' or 'D' grade.
- There is no provision for grade improvement in any practical examinations.

How to Fill the Online Application Form
All eligible students must complete their form fill-up process online. This can be done personally by the student or with assistance from their respective college authorities. The first step is to visit the National University's student login portal.
After logging in with your registration number, you must carefully complete the application form as per the on-screen instructions. Once the form is filled out, it needs to be downloaded and printed. This printed copy will detail your selected subject codes and the required fees. It is the student's responsibility to ensure all information, especially subject codes, is entered correctly.
- Submission: Submit the printed copy of the completed form to your department at your college.
- Photograph: Affix two recent, passport-sized photographs, attested by the college principal, to the designated area on the form.
- Corrections: If any mistake is made, the form can be canceled by the college authorities, allowing you to re-apply.
In-Course Examination and Mark Submission Process
Before completing the main examination form fill-up, all regular and private students must participate in the in-course examination conducted by their respective colleges. It is a mandatory prerequisite for the form fill-up process.
Following the examination, the college authorities are responsible for entering the marks online. This is done by logging into the prescribed university software and inputting the marks obtained by each student against their registration number for every paper. After the online entry is complete, a printout of the marks sheet must be generated.
- Verification and Submission: The printed marks sheet must be verified and signed by both the Head of the Department and the College Principal.
- Delivery: The original, signed copies must be sealed in subject-wise envelopes and submitted by hand to the Deputy Controller of Examinations, Degree (Pass) Branch, at the National University, Gazipur. This must be done before the theoretical examinations begin.
- Record Keeping: A photocopy of the submitted marks sheet should be preserved by the college for their records.
If any error occurs during the online mark entry, the college must inform the Deputy Controller of the concerned branch in writing. For any corrections, the original manually prepared marks list (signed by the Head of Department and Principal) will be considered the final authority.
This guide provides all the necessary information for the NU Degree 3rd Year form fill-up for the 2023 session. Students must complete the online application between July 30 and August 20, 2025, and submit the printed form to their college by August 21, 2025.
